Throttle

Limiting a function to fire at most once per defined time interval, regardless of how many times it's invoked.

Example: Capping a scroll event handler to fire at most once per 16ms (roughly 60fps) even though scroll events can fire far more frequently.

In practice: The right tool when you want steady, regular execution under sustained input — debounce is better when you want to wait for a burst to finish before acting.
